To which events coverage provider (Video, Sound, Lighting) entrust the project for a reality-TV show ?


La Maison du Bluff is a french television programme broadcast on TV station NRJ-12 whose main topic is the game of poker. Created in 2010, this broadcast is the only one on the air which allows viewers to join the programme every week. This implies producing edited summaries of the broadcast a very fast pace akin to just-in-time delivery techniques.

For the producers of this type of programme, the viewership is all important and this implies for the TV channel to produce very fast quality edited versions of the best moments of the day all while viewing many hours of raw footage. For the weekly summary, an entire week of shooting must be viewed.
The service provider in charge of editing must be able to identify and enhance the high intensity drama moments of the programme, select the best moments to capture viewer interest and thus enourage them to follow the programme every day.

During 3 weeks, the players take place at the poker table and the programme will be broadcast both over NRJ-12 and over the Internet via the PokerStars web site.



To avoid having too many involved parties, the producers wanted to have a single service provider capable of supplying the live shooting production means as well as post-production services with the requirement of real-time editing of daily and weekly summaries.

For the third year in a row, the VIDELIO - Events teams were selected to cover this wide-audience event. The 2013 edition was located in Portugal.

4 staff members were delegated for the entire duration of the event :

  • 3 weeks to install/dismantle the equipment
  • +4 weeks of shooting for the french versionof the programme
  • +4 weeks of shooting for the italian version

2 flyaway edit suites :

  • One 15 camera unit (13 pedestal cameras + 2 roving wireless cameras)
  • One 5 camera unit ( 4 on-stage + 1 on a crane

10 AVID post-production editing suites with 2x EVS XT3 servers and 1x ISIS 64 Terabyte server.


For production company Kawa Productions, the 2013 edition was a great success since the viewership reached record heights with 10.5 million viewers. The decision to resort to a single events provider for Video, Sound, Lighting such as VIDELIO - Events revealed itself as a winning choice because the companies's teams are highly mobile throughout France and overseas and are capable of providing turnkey customized solutions (production shooting + post-production + TV broadcast + web transmission). Furthermore, their experience allows them to work in near real time with very short delays between live shooting, editing and broadcast over the air. VIDELIO - Events also had other opportunities to put to good use its broadcast know-how :

the chinese reality TV show Only You dedicated to researching jobs stages 12 corporate managers coming to recrute their future employee among 150 highly motivated participants who compete in many challenges to obtain a job. The show gathers each week 30 million viewers in China and another 500 million over the Internet.
